Microsoft announced yesterday at the 2008 Mobile World Congress the availability of MSN Direct for Windows Mobile devices. The software is free and uses the handset’s data connection to automatically update weather, top news stories, and other information and present it directly on the user’s home screen.
Microsoft’s MSN Direct is free for users to download and install, though it should be noted that it will maintain a data connection, so an unlimited data plan is highly recommended. Users can select what information is shown and can click through to get more in-depth information easily.
Windows Mobile 6 users can direct their mobile device to http://phone.msndirect.com to download the software directly to their device.
